Boston rested in his stall wearily, attempting to get his mind off the mare he had met just a few days ago. He hadn't seen her around, but he figured she was still in the same stable. He paced his stall, thinking of his past races, his past in general, but nothing seemed to work. A groom came and fetched him from his stall, turning him loose into a paddock. He smiled at the openess, the halter-free, bliss. His mane had grown long from too many years of no racing, and he now look more arabic than Thoroughbred.
Immediately taking off, he tossed his head, bucked, galloped at full speeds, that is, until he reached a small creek. That creek ran through both the mare and stallion paddocks, which sometimes teased the stallions, since it went through the mares first. But not him. Whickering, he allowed his mane to fall gracefully over his chocolate eyes before arching his boa to allow himself to get a drink. He gulped down the water, feeling it's cold sensation going down his throat. It tasted... Like freedom.

Over by the fence that divided both pastures stood Dancer. She saw Boston and whinnied, "Hey, Boston!"

Boston's head shot up as he pranced over toward her. "Dancer!" He called, clearly glad to see her. "How've you been?"

Fine," she said, a little bit suprised by his enthusiasm, though she didn't show it. "Aramel had her foal today."

"So I heard." He said, nodding. "According to all of the stallions, she's a "special" foal." He, himself, believed that every foal was special, but he was a rather sensitive stallion, so what would he know?

"It was suprising Jack came by in the first place," Dancer growled.

Boston shifted his weight, clearly wishing to change the subject. He tilted his head at her, a new train of thought. "Hear of any good races lately?" He asked, afraid he was changing the topic too abruptly.

"The race between Alqua and Typhoon. It was a practice race, but I hear it was wonderful," Dancer said.

He smiled, "Really? Hmph." He thought to himself. Alqua was his brother's daughter, or his niece. He was proud that she had gone as far as she had. She had a really bad start, but was now on her feet and better than ever.

"Typhoon, right? I'm sure he'll win. Tapit doesn't have that much gut." Boston stated with a smirk. He had heard through the horsey grapevine that Alqua had called Tapit a Wannabe Snowman. Which was in a way, how he would describe Tapit.

"They just got back. It was a tie. Next time Typhoon will get past the Snowman," she laughed.

Boston laughed, "Most definately." He said, positive he would.
