But Typhoon also wanted to win. They were in the sretch, and on cue, he passed her with a tiny burst of speed!

Alqua snorted, her eyes narrowed in fury. She darted forward again, but as they passed the finish line, it appeared that it was a tie. The small crowd went wild as they found the pair that were matched in ability, which they figured would be a good race later on. They all murmured to one another, as Alqua's jockey turned her around, trotting her to cool her off. "Nice run, Typhoon." She said, a smile on her exhausted maw.

She nodded, lowering her head to allow more air to pass through her lungs. "You've impressed me." She said, pausing, "I was fully expecting what they usually give me. Some broken-down old horse." She told him, glad that she had a real race... Well, one that challenged her.

"You will be ready for your next race. I know it."
Ooc: That was thrilling! Like Seabiscuit and War Admiral or something!

OOC: Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking! She smiled as much as a horse can smile. "Thanks. I hope you're ready too, or you'll be seeing a lot of my tail." She spoke with a hint of a joke in her voice, still smiling.

Typhoon smiled back, his lips pulling his bit back. "See you soon!" he whinnied as the rider trotted him off. "Real soon!"

Alqua laughed, "You can count on it!" She shouted as he was trotting away. She chuckled to herself as her rider trotted her around as well.

The groom led a sweaty Typhoon in the barn. They went and sprayed him down with warm water, put a blanket on him, and put him in his stall.
